How This Started
It all started with a little show called Sailor Moon.
I suppose me stumbling across the show in my adolescent years helped shape the writer and person I am today. I was already writing, but the thought of creating superheroes was, well, for lack of a better word, quite exciting. So my first characters–one of which was the brutal Rose herself–formed a group called The T Squad. There were five of them, and they loved Spice Girls songs–another interesting point since there were also five of them.
(Note: This was before I saw any of the Outer Senshi, which prompted the T Squad’s growth.)
As I grew older, I still loved Sailor Moon in my heart, but I wanted to create something of my own. I wanted to create something I could be proud of, show to my friends without feeling like a dork. So I got the idea to create the Gifted Nine and their mythology, taking samples from some of my previous concepts and reshaping them until it didn’t feel so much like drivel.
